The excerpt below was taken from the original HYBRID website from 1998 when the band's first web "page" was introduced to the online world. It still stands today as an example of the brief history of the band from it conception in 1991 to the present reforming in 1999.

HYBRID: Was formed in 1991 by the above members. And in a short time discovered a blend of rock rarely heard at the time. Mixing many styles of rock from 80's alternative, mainstream rock, vintage rock, with a few "pop" sensibilities proved to be a winning formula for the band. Who at the time were dodging 90's grunge rock sounds in hopes of coming off with a recording contract, despite that growing trend in the modern rock scene.

So searching for the perfect "Hybrid" of rock proved elusive but not entirely out of reach for these four young musicians. Writing and composing separately they brought to the table their ideas. Though the final product sometimes came off as "disjointed" and sounding unlike the few raw tunes that brought them together. So out of pure frustration they opted to work as a team to bring stability into the mix. And this worked well for each of them, and also generated a few new ideas along the way. Including the addition of synthesizer and vintage organ sounds to a few tracks. It also brought the four closer together as friends.

Unfortunately growing personal problems forced them into hiatus in 1994 with the future of the band looking as bleak as the industry they left behind. But today with new formed optimism and fresh
ideas they will resume their duties as a band. All four members have returned, having found a new lease on life and ready to build a new repertoire of their brand of music in the "Rock" genre.
